Who is your role model, and why?

My Grandmother, she showed me how to become a great young man

Have any scouts met with you yet, and if so what are they saying?

Six scouts have talked to my coaches about who I am as a person.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Basketball, Baseball

Did you play any other positions in football?

Wide Receiver

At your position, what separates you from others?

Hard work, toughness and passion

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

How tough is the DE, does he take plays off, the defense’s favorite coverage, how active is the SS, FS, who’s the best player, seeing if that team blitzes a lot so I can shorten my route.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

The SS from Buffalo

deon butler 2If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Charles Clay, the TE for Miami. The reason why is because he’s very physical, he catches the ball very well, and he knows how to get open.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Growing up poor and knowing it was going to be days that I wouldn’t have food to eat. I wanted better for my family and myself so I took the responsibility of growing up early to take care of business and my family.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

After I watch film I like to listen to music and get myself in the zone and once I hit the field I take a knee and pray.

What is your biggest strength?

Being a leader as well as a learner and helping others be on the same page.

What is your biggest weakness?

Being too hard on myself.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

What I can promise is to put my all into the team and the game and to be a great role model with the team and community. I will learn and challenge myself everyday and will do my best to put the people around me to nothing but success.

Who was your favorite player and NFL team growing up?

My favorite player growing up was Brett Favre and my favorite team was Green Bay.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

If I could choose three people to have dinner with they would be Aaron Rodgers, Lil Wayne, and Muhammad Ali.
