Buccaneers GM says he has spent time thinking about Jameis Winston’s off field incidents
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the first pick in the draft, and right now the safest pick for any team is probably Leonard Williams. The Buccaneers however need a quarterback, and both Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota who are considered 1 and 2, have question marks. Marcus Mariota is more of a running quarterback, while Jameis Winston is a gun slinger. The problem is Mariota has been called a system quarterback and Jameis has off the field incidents. If Jameis Winston did not have any off the field problems he would considered the consensus number one pick. Well those issues do bother the general manager of the Buccaneers. Jason Licht talked about the off field incidents with Peter King from SI.com.
“I’d be lying if I said I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the off-field stuff,” Licht told The MMQB this week. “This decision is going to affect so many people and their families. We’ve got to get it right.”
It will be interesting to see what they do, but it from what I am hearing Jameis is the clear cut guy for the Buccaneers.
