Baltimore Ravens have cut ties with Chris Canty; Saves team 2.66 million
Veteran football players are getting cut left and right. Today the Baltimore Ravens continue to free up space, by terminating the contract of defensive end Chris Canty.
The defensive end was entering the final year of a three-year $8 million contract signed in 2013. Cutting him saves the Ravens $2.66 million on the salary cap, per OverTheCap.com.
This comes just two days after the Ravens cut ties with Jacoby Jones, the speedy wide out from Lane College. Canty, 32, has reportedly been mulling retirement after 10 NFL seasons, but has been working out regularly and intends to play, per the Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson.
