Redskins have second meeting with Vic Fangio today
Today the Washington Redskins will meet with Vic Fangio for the second time. The Washington Redskins will meet again Sunday with Vic Fangio about their vacant defensive coordinator position, after getting together with him Saturday night.
At the same time that they requested permission to talk to Fangio, the Redskins also asked to interview San Francisco defensive backs coach Ed Donatell. The 49ers gave them the green light. Last week, Coach Jay Gruden and officials interviewed Donatell, San Diego Chargers linebackers coach Joe Barry and former Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. This week, the Redskins also interviewed former Jets coach Eric Mangini and their own defensive backs coach Raheem Morris for the position.
The 49ers’ defense in 2014 ranked fifth in the NFL, limiting opponents to an average of 321.4 yards per game. San Francisco held opponents to 21.3 points per game (10th in the NFL).
