NFL sends a message about the news of a new NFL stadium
Earlier this morning the LA Times reported that St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke was planning on building a new stadium in Inglewood, California where he recently bought land. Well the NFL has responded to the news with this email to Pro Football Talk.
“No team has applied for relocation and there will be no team relocations for the 2015 season,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said via email. “We are committed to working towards having franchises that are strong and successful in their existing markets. Any decision on relocation in 2016 or later is subject to approval by the 32 clubs. An affirmative vote by 24 of 32 clubs (three-fourths) is required.”
This sounds like Kroenke is moving on his own, but he realizes their will be an opportunity to have a team back in Los Angeles soon. The sad news is it could be the Rams….
