Vikings replace Cordarrelle Patterson at the X with a WR from Grand Valley State
Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner told reporters Thursday that from-the-wilderness pass-catcher Charles Johnson has taken over Minnesota’s “X” receiver position. This is bad news for the Vikings former high draft pick Cordarrelle Patterson.
“CJ is playing at a high level,” Turner said, per ESPN.com’s Ben Goessling. “CJ is the starter at X. That’s the position Cordarrelle plays. We’re going to do what we can to give him some opportunities to play there, but CJ’s playing at a real high level right now.”
Patterson had a very good rookie season, but this team need to find a way to get him the ball. He can be a play maker, but they are making a major change.
