Ryan Fitzpatrick became one of a few to throw for at least 4 TD’s for 3 different teams

fitzmagicThe Houston Texans fan base was probably not expecting the showing they received on Sunday when Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 6 touchdown passes, especially after losing his starting job to Ryan Mallett a couple weeks earlier.  Well Fitzpatrick dominated the Titans defense yesterday and he was so impressive, that he put up a few major stats.  The most impressive is he has thrown for at least 4 touchdown passes for 3 different franchises. The other is he joined Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers as the only other quarterbacks this year to put up six touchdown passes in one game according to ESPN.

As for six touchdowns in a game, that’s now happened four times this season. Roethlisberger did it twice and Rodgers did it once. This is only the second time in NFL history that four games have seen quarterbacks throw for six or more touchdowns. It last happened in 1969.

Eight quarterbacks have thrown at least four touchdowns in a game with three franchises. Brett Favre did it with Green Bay, the New York Jets and Minnesota; Warren Moon did it with Tennessee, Minnesota and Seattle; Brad Johnson did it with Minnesota, Washington and Tampa Bay; Jeff George did it with Atlanta, Oakland and Minnesota; Trent Green did it with Washington, St. Louis and Kansas City; Earl Morrall did it with Detroit, the Giants and Baltimore; and Jim Plunkett did it with New England, San Francisco and Oakland.
