I played college football at Grand Valley State University
How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?
I was recruited by the whole MAC San Jose State and the University of Wyoming
How did you choose your school?
I chose my university because of the loss of my Father to cancer I wanted to be close to my Mom so I can be able to get to her if she needed me. And Stan Parrish was a great coach and James Bettcher was a great position coach.
Where are you from?
I am from Chicago Illinois.
Who is your role model, and why?
My role models are my Mother and my big Brother. Because of through their times of struggle and loss they do not allow it to show they know how to be strong and focused on what is next not allowing what happen to interfere with their progress in becoming better people. They taught me by their actions that perfection is not reality but a perfect reality is a reality is one when imperfection is understood.
Have any scouts met with you yet, and if so what are they saying?
Scouts I have met with have said the like the way I run said I have a very high motor and that They can see me as a outside linebacker and inside guy too because of my build.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
Yes, I played other sports being track and wrestling.
Did you play any other positions in football?
I played receiver and tight-end and i played middle and OLB in high school and in college when I played at Ball State.
At your position, what separates you from others?
These separate me being my active hand in a pass rush as well as my strength in the pass rush., ability to shed blocks, and locate the ball and my physical play high motor, never quit mindset.
When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?
When I break down film I look at all offensive players looking for tendency to let me pick it out as a run or a pass. then the two tendency and hand action i pass rush. I try to see if the like to make big hits when blocking or like to control when it come to them run blocking and me needing to know how to shed their blocks. I call the play we should run with the personnel to imagine the game and the plays being called i the formation this personnel etc…
Who was the toughest player you ever faced?
It was a tackle from Iowa I was a fresh but he was killing me!
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?
Melvin Ingram OLB for the chargers and Brandon Graham
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
Losing my dad at 17 and failing out of school my freshman year. letting those situation in sense make me wise and stronger. In a way instilled character and mental toughness. It taught me that things come and go, people come and go but you can not go with them meaning it helped me understand that I can adapted to controversy and know how use it in the game by playing well under duress.
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
I don’t have a pre-game ritual.
What is your biggest strength?
My Biggest strength are my hands and how active I keep them in pass rush or base block my ability to always be able to deliver a blow of the line by striking my opponent of the line. my ability to shed blocks. I am an explosive pass rusher that can turn a speed rush into power at anytime. I’m always around the ball I feel I never get tired on the field I will run to any ball don’t matter how far it is from me I want to be around the ball I want to be the one making the play. I just have an overall high motor and I play aggressive. I do my job and then some.
What is your biggest weakness?
My weakness is technique some times is off need to focus on improve on the tech side of things my hand get me out of trouble when my tech is poor. Still must improve on my secondary move in the pass rush. I need to improve on hip mobility and becoming overall more flexible.
If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?
f I were a GM I would emphasize Blue collar and talented. Hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard. And I work hard and I am very talented at what I do on the field. You can ask my coaching staff when I was a true freshman at Ball State to my coaches here a Grand Valley State I was first one in last one out film weights just getting better for my team. I am student of this sport I am passionate about it. this sport has been a big part of my life and I owe the game a lot by putting my all in to it and whatever GM gives me that chances. money is irrelevant to me being a better football player and helping a team as well creating opinions from others that I am a kid who loves what he does and is willing to play any position to prove it to anyone. I am forever hungry and will not stop until everyone sees that I am going to be great at this I promise you that. I am a leader by example by actions not words. My head coach will vouch for me on that I am a player who loves hearing his flaws and weaknesses and not strengths because I want to get better not be complacent because when you do not feel you have gotten better in a practice, film session, weight room or as a man day by day you are only getting worse and I do not want that, I want to be great. I will do kickoff, punt, punt return, kickoff return, PAT even short snap for a PAT. I want to be on field. I will be a player when you see me walk around the facility you are going to be glad you signed me cause you know I am talent. I am hard work. I am thankful to be here and will be forever obligated to show you this everyday in the film room on the field in the weight room and in the community.
Who was your favorite player and NFL team growing up?
Chicago Bears. And when I was younger I was a Lights out Shawne Merriman fan now I am a Cam Wake fan he is that type of player I want to be doesn’t care about money just the game.
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?
Tough never thought about this…Cam Wake, My Dad, and Liane V. She is an instagram celeb and a phenomenal singer and just overall gorgeous. I would marry her if she say said yes. haha.
