Former BYU safety Daniel Sorensen has been promoted to the Kansas City Chiefs active roster.
Sorensen made the club’s opening-day roster as an undrafted free agent from BYU and appeared in the season opener against Tennessee. He was waived and signed to the practice squad on Sept. 11.
Sorensen will provide an extra defensive back on Sunday against the Jets because cornerback Jamell Fleming is out with a hamstring pull, and on special teams in place of linebacker Josh Martin, who is also out with a hamstring injury.
