Saints worked out several veterans and signed TE Tom Crabtree
This week the New Orleans Saints worked out several players including TE Tom Crabtree who they signed yesterday to a contract. The others worked out were LB Paul Hazel who was recently with the Cleveland Browns, and tight end Kellen Davis who had a recent stint with the Chicago Bears.
The 28-year-old Crabtree played in seven games for Tampa Bay in 2013, catching four passes for 21 yards and a touchdown. This followed a three-season stint with Green Bay (2010-2012). Overall, Crabtree has caught 22 passes for 323 yards and five TDs in 53 regular season contests.
The team ultimately signed Crabtree who was a pretty reliable tight end for the Packers a year back. Crabtree has good hands and is basically an insurance policy if Jimmy Graham cannot go this week after getting injured. We expect Graham to play, but it will depend on if the doctors want him to risk another injury.
