Raiders rookie QB has more touchdown passes than any QB ever after 1st five games
Oakland Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr had more than just a career day on Sunday. His four touchdown passes, which doubled his total for the year, put him at 8 touchdowns through his first five games as a rookie NFL quarterback. That number is better than any quarterback since 1960 according to Pro Football Reference.
Just how good is 8 touchdowns after five games? Let’s compare it to some of the veterans on the list.
Russell Wilson had 5 touchdowns in his first five games, Big Ben who led his team to the playoffs his rookie year had 5 touchdowns and Peyton Manning only had 4 back in 1998.
This does not mean that Derek Carr is going to be a great quarterback, but it is promising. Especially, when you are looking for a new head coach…….Just saying!
