Michael Vick broke Jeff Cumberland’s finger with a pass, WOW
Last week, the New York Jets were forced to play Michael Vick after Geno Smith’s pathetic start against the Buffalo Bills throwing 3 interceptions in less than 10 minutes in the first quarter. The Jets players were able to see what Vick and and it sounds like he won the locker room over with his zip on his passes. Sheldon Richardson said he’s noticed the 34-year-old quarterback’s unique skill set in practice, including his legendary arm. It was that cannon that caused an injury to tight end Jeff Cumberland last Sunday.
“I think he still got it. Why? He can fire the football that’s why,” Richardson said. “He broke Jeff’s finger on a pass in the last game. He’s still got it.”
On Wednesday, Cumberland was sporting green tape on the middle finger of his left hand. He would not say that his finger was broken, but did say it was banged up. Cumberland is expected to play on Sunday despite the finger injury.
I have always like Vick, and hope he tears it up this week, but he will face the coach that gave him his shot to play again after facing prison time for dog fighting charges.
