Five unexpected players who have come up huge for their teams
I thought it would be interesting to post a list of five players who sort of came from out of no where to really help give their team a better chance to win.
The biggest surprise to me has to be Justin Forsett of the Baltimore Ravens. In the beginning of the season everyone was expecting Ray Rice to carry the load, but after his incident it really crippled the Ravens fan base. Well little did they know they had a player on the bench that would be a top five running back through eight weeks. Forsett has 503 rushing yards and has been pretty impressive.
Another huge surprise is Chris Ivory. The former New Orleans Saints running back has been impressive this year. The Jets signed Chris Johnson from the Titans via free agency, but have struck gold with a player already on their roster. Ivory has been running hard and is currently in the top 10 for yards. Ivory looks good this year and has been a real nice surprise.
Golden Tate right now is hands down the best free agent acquisition of the season. With Calvin Johnson missing time with an injury, Tate has picked up the slack. Tate has been super impressive this year hauling in 48 receptions for 648 yards. He might only have 2 touchdowns but this guy has that “It” factor. He has been ballin in Detroit.
If you play fantasy football you know who Delanie Walker is. Not many understand how good Walker has been this season, but with the quarterback issues he is the most consistent target for the Titans. Walker has 438 yards this year with soon to be three different quarterbacks at the helm.
The last one I have to give credit too is Everson Griffen. The Minnesota Vikings paid him a pretty good amount and boy has he been coming through. He already has 7 sacks through seven games. Averaging a sack a game Everson is expected to hit 10 plus sacks with ease. He has been pretty impressive if you ask me.
