Cowboys QB Tony Romo is set to make history on Sunday

romoThis week Tony Romo will make history in a Dallas Cowboys uniform. It will mark Romo’s 115th start in the blue and silver and put him in second on the all-time list behind Troy Aikman, who started 165. But obviously, any time a Cowboys quarterback passes Staubach in any category, it’s kind of a big deal.

“Roger is the elite of the elite,” Romo said, per Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas. “I think anytime you’re good at anything and you’re mentioned in the same breath, playing the same number of games, it’s obviously a huge honor. You’re just humbled by it, but knowing Roger the way I do, he’s excited by what we’ve been doing. I’ll be excited to see him after one of these home wins and get a chance to communicate with him.

Roger had a little something to say about Romo and his record as well.

“My record,” Staubach said before laughing. “Do I have any other records with the Cowboys other than being in the Navy?”I think Tony Romo is one of the best things that has happened to Dallas, he said. “He’s a franchise quarterback. He’s a winner. But he can’t do it by himself.”

I agree with Staubach, what an awesome story. Romo has the Cowboys fan base believing Super Bowl, which they could be headed if they keep it going.
