TMZ reports the NFL never asked the Casino for the tapes
I am so confused, because when you are a dealing with an investigation you have to turn over any and all evidence to Law Enforcement Officers. Well today TMZ Sports is reporting that the NFL never once came to them to ask them for the videos, meaning they basically did their investigation without doing a thorough process. There were always rumors that there was a video where Ray Rice hit his girlfriend, and yesterday when the video was published the NFL had to act immediately. Why because they knew they messed up.
Sources connected with the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City tell TMZ Sports … NO ONE from the NFL ever asked for the video inside the elevator … video that was compelling enough to get Rice instantly fired.
Sources who worked at the at the time of the incident tell us … if the NFL had asked for the video, they would have gladly complied.
Without video … Goodell blindly justified the initial 2-game suspension, based on the only evidence they had — from the two people in the elevator, who called it mutual combat.
The sad thing is the NFL has people that work for them who were prior law enforcement officers such as Secret Service, and FBI. This was a piss poor job by Roger Goodell and his staff. If they truly did not ask the Hotel for the videos, they deserve all the negative feedback they will probably deserve today.
