Cowboys running back Demarco Murray is on pace for 2,000 rushing yards
The Dallas Cowboys have not bee impressive this year, but their running back Demarco Murray has. In just three games, Murray has rushed for 385 yards on 75 attempts, averaging 5.1 yards a carry and has three touchdowns.
While that might not sound like much, he is averaging 128.3 yards a game. If he was to continue at this pace, he will be joining O.J. Simpson, Barry Sanders, Eric Dickerson, Terrell Davis, Jamal Lewis, Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson as the 8th player of all-time to rush for 2,000 rushing yards.
If Murray can keep these stats up, he will finish the season with 400 rushing attempts for 2052 yards and 16 touchdowns. It will be the most carries of any player on that list above, but Murray could easily join the club. If he does go off and hit 2k, expect the Cowboys to back up the Brinks truck, because he will be expecting a huge pay day, and I wouldn’t blame him.
