Adrian Peterson’s mother says “Whipping someone you Love, IS Love”
Adrian Peterson has been under a lot of scrutiny over the past few days because he whipped his child with a “switch”. While I have no problem with punishing your children if they do something wrong, Adrian Peterson might have went a little overboard on his 4 year old son.
People are saying that Adrian Peterson was wrong because the stick left welts. Well for those of you have never been hit with a switch, it is GOING to leave a mark. You are whipping flesh with a stick. When you spank a kid, it will leave the impression of your hand. That is what a whipping is. While I am not agreeing he was right for whipping his child, because it was a little excessive for me, it is not for others. Many children were whipped with extension cords, hit with rice spoons and had to pick out a switch. While it is not right, there is usually something the child did to get hit.
When you disrespect someone that is watching you, you can get whooped. I know, but at the end of the day was it overboard? I say to an extent, but Adrian Peterson’s mother believes differently.
Adrian Peterson’s mother had this to say about her son’s allegations.
“When you whip those you love, it’s not about abuse, but love. You want to make them understand that they did wrong.”
