Steelers legend recommends small school WR to the team and they signed him
Today the Pittsburgh Steelers signed C.J. Goodwin a former wide receiver from California (PA) in Pennsylvania.
In a corresponding move the team released Jasper Collins another small school wide out. The story of how the Steelers found Goodwin is a wild one though.
According to Tribune Review reporter Mark Kaboly, the newest Steelers wide receiver, C.J. Goodwin, worked for former Hall of Famer Mel Blount. At his request, the Steelers gave Goodwin a tryout, and a week later, he’s on the team.
It just goes to show you, sometimes it is who you know.
