Seahawks sign former University of Washington standout
The Seattle Seahawks agreed to a deal with former University of Washington wide receiver Kevin Smith on Wednesday, according to several reports. The deal is pending a physical.
Smith originally signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in May, but was waived earlier this month. He was then claimed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but was waived last week.
As a senior last season at UW, Smith had 50 catches for 765 yards and four touchdowns, and also returned five kicks. At Washington’s pro day in April, the 5-foot-11, 214-pound Smith helped his own cause, recording a 4.54-second 40-yard dash and a 37-inch vertical jump.
Smith would take the roster spot of former UW and Eastern Washington defensive tackle Andru Pulu, who was waived on Tuesday.
