Could the Raiders cut ties with Denarius Moore?
The Oakland Raiders are pretty deep at the wide receiver position, and the team recently signed Greg Little. Little was a decent receiver but has had a hard time in the NFL since leaving college. Denarius Moore on the other hand has had quite a bit of success with the Raiders, but he is being passed on the depth chart by former Dallas Cowboys wide out Andre Holmes.
Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle recently noted that Andre Holmes seems to be bypassing Moore for the No. 3 role behind Jones and Rod Streater.Formerly a jump-ball specialist at 6-foot-5, Holmes led the Raiders in receiving down the stretch last season. In fact, his 366 yards over the final five games ranked 15th among all NFL receivers.
This is not good for Moore, who could be a possible trade candidate. If the Raiders cannot find a trade partner for Moore, the team might be willing to axe him. The team has quite a bit of faith in Juron Criner as well, who has been shining in OTA’s. It will be a crazy move in my opinion if the team let’s the former Tennessee stand out go, but you can tell this team is about winning now and putting the best players on the field. And you have to respect that….
