Dallas Cowboys could salvage their season with a veteran like Brian Urlacher
When Brian Urlacher was released from the Chicago Bears, he was obviously upset about getting cut from a team that he helped build. It hurt him so much, that he walked away from the NFL completely and became a broadcaster. I am sure somewhere deep down inside #54, he would love to put that uniform on one more time and put it to an NFL team.
Per Pro Football Talk, Urlacher is a viable option for the Cowboys, who are trying to replace middle linebacker Sean Lee. Whether Urlacher progresses from viable option to member of the team depends on whether the younger players pegged to replace Lee step up, including Anthony Hitchens and DeVonte Holloman.

Cowboys have internally discussed Brian Urlacher and Jon Vilma, tape watched and evaluated. Team source on how much interest: “Not much.”
I think the Cowboys would be crazy not to sign a veteran at the Mike position. I don’t think Jon Vilma is a viable option, but Urlacher is healthy, but is he still in NFL shape? The guy has sat out of football for over a year. He might not be ready to come in right away and put up statistics like he did in previous years with the Bears, but at this point, he is way better than DeVonte Holloman or Anthony Hitchens.
I don’t know about you, but if the Cowboys do not sign a veteran free agent at the linebacker position the coaching staff and the administration is throwing in the towel on the Cowboys and their season.
