D.C. Mayor says Eagles made “dumb mistake” concerning D-Jax
Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray had some harsh words for the Philadelphia Eagles, who released Desean Jackson after having gang affiliation. The Mayor stated this during DeSean Jackson’s first annual “Already Home” fundraiser at Pinstripes bowling alley in Georgetown on Father’s Day.
“I want to thank the Philadelphia Eagles for making the dumbest mistake.”
The Philadelphia Eagles cut Jackson in late March after conflicts with head coach Chip Kelly. Later rumors that Jackson, who grew up in Los Angeles, had “gang connections” popped up on NJ.com.
Jackson, who on Sunday raised funds for the Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative, has denied ever being affiliated with a gang.
