Should the Steelers kick the tires on James Harrison and Santonio Holmes?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have never been afraid of doing something out of the ordinary, but one thing is for sure they like their veteran players.  So my question is should the Pittsburgh Steelers bring back James Harrison and Santonio Holmes, since both of them want to come back?  If they want to come back, why not bring them back for league minimum?

The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison is still holding out hope of suiting up for the Pittsburgh Steelers again, and now he is not the only one hoping to return.  According to Ike Taylor, wide receiver Santonio Holmes apparently wants to re-join Harrison in Pittsburgh

“Both of them want to come back to the Steelers,” veteran cornerback Ike Taylor said Tuesday on TribLive Radio.

If the Steelers do bring back Holmes and Harrison, they might be able to sign them to pretty reasonable contracts.  Both of them still have something left in the tank, and they really won’t take away from the starters.  They could be great contributors, and also a veteran presence in the locker room.  I think it would be crazy for them not to bring back the two of them.

It is a win/win situation for the Steelers, it will not cost them anything and they get two guys that want to be on the roster, and already embrace the city.
