Seahawks land a tall cornerback and refuse to pick up option on OT
According to Todd Dybas of the News-Tribune, the Seattle Seahawks declined to exercise the fifth-year contract option for the 2015 season on guard James Carpenter. The team also signed former Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson.
Jefferson (6’0/193), is an exceptional athlete with 4.42 speed, and has long arms.
Carpenter was selected by Seattle with the 25th overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft and started 26 of 32 games. In 2013, he played in all 16 games with 10 starts. He has played in one postseason game, starting at left guard in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos.
With the team signing a cornerback and refusing to pick up the option of their starting tackle, expect them to draft a OT early.
