Patriots ink defensive lineman with 67.5 career sacks
The New England Patriots boosted their pass rush today when they added former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith. The former first round pick from Utica, NY will be joining the Pats. Smith was a former Pro Bowler in 2006, and assisted the Saints in winning a Super Bowl back when the Saint demolished the Indianapolis Colts.
Smith, who turns 33 in July, ranks fourth in Saints history with 67.5 career sacks. He missed last season after tearing his ACL in August and had been the longest tenured member of the Saints before his release Feb. 12.
