Five biggest reaches in the 2014 NFL Draft
I only had a few guys that I considered a reach in the first place but one of my biggest reaches came in the first round.
Ju’Waun James was the Miami Dolphins firat round pick , and to me that was a bigger reach than any other player in this draft. The Dolphins let both Cyrus Kouandjio and Morgan Moses fall past them and selected the Tennessee offensive tackle. I don’t feel it was a good pick, and I can see the Dolphins third rounder Billy Turner being the guy that jumps him in mini camp.
The St. Louis Rams drafted Lemarcus Joyner in the early second round. To me this was a huge reach because I cannot see passing on a corner with size for a guy that is barely 5’8. Joyner is a good player, but to me he is considered a safety, not a corner.
The Atlanta Falcons drafted Dezmen Southward the former East/West Shrine standout, was taken early in the third round by the Falcons. I felt this was a big reach and had Southward rated as a 5th round pick.
Cassius Marsh was a very solid player in college for UCLA but I am sorry the Seahawks took this kid way to early. There is no way I would have drafted him with a fourth round pick.
How did Shaq Evans get drafted ahead of Martavis Bryant? I am sorry Jets fans, this was a huge reach. I am not a fan of this pick and feel it was a very big reach.
