3 men that stabbed Steelers lineman were acquitted on almost all charges
Three men accused of stabbing Pittsburgh Steeler Mike Adams were acquitted of nearly all charges Wednesday. This is horrible for Mike Adams and his family. The man was trying to stick up for his property and was stabbed and assaulted. The men will not get barely any time for their involvement. I feel the court system dropped the ball today.
The foreman read the verdict at 4:38 p.m., finding Michael Paranay, 26, not guilty of aggravated assault, attempted robbery and conspiracy. The jury found Jerrell Whitlock, 27, not guilty of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, attempted robbery and conspiracy. Jurors convicted him of fleeing police.
The jury found Dquay Means, 26, not guilty of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, attempted robbery, conspiracy and carrying a firearm. He was convicted of escape.
The jurors deliberated for about five hours and were about to be sent home for night when they told Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Anthony M. Mariani they had reached a decision.
Prosecutors said Adams was stabbed during an attempted carjacking about 3 a.m. June 1 outside a Cambodian restaurant in the South Side.
I don’t know about you but as a law enforcement officer, I am disappointed in this judgement. That is a horrible decision.
