Miami Dolphins should make a push to sign Hakeem Nicks
The Miami Dolphins have a need right now at the wide receiver position in my opinion and in Ryan Tannehill’s third year you need to put players around him to succeed. He could be in his final year if he does not produce with the Dolphins. The Phins drafted the former Texas A&M wide out converted quarterback in the first round and he has had to go through some issues in Miami. Poor Tannehill has been sacked more than any quarterback in the past several years. The guy takes a ton of hits, but the Dolphins are projected to be 39 million under the cap.
The team needs to add weapons around Tannehill to succeed and draft a whole bunch of lineman. If you look at the team they have Mike Wallace who can take the top off a defense, they have Hartline who is a very good possession receiver and now they need a guy that can go across the middle. They can get that with Hakeem Nicks. Nick’s recently hired Jay Z and Rock Nation as his new agent and while he could be looking to get a big check, he is coming off of one of his worst seasons since entering the NFL.
What player would not want to play in Miami with the amazing weather and beach? I think Nicks would enjoy the atmosphere and be a huge asset to the Phins. A few other guys I would be on the lookout for as a Phins fan would be Vonta Leach would was recently released by the Ravens, Branden Albert the OT from the Chiefs and Brandon Pettigrew the stand out Tight end from Detroit. The team has the funds to do all of that and more, why not splurge?
