Golden Tate called the Seattle Seahawks offer laughable

Today Golden Tate called the offer he received from Seattle “laughable”  and said he will earn in one year from Detroit what he would have earned in two years from the Seahawks.

“It was laughable considering that I was there four years, a starter two of those years,” he said. “I missed one game in my two years, including the playoffs (I was) in the community, did everything right, was not a troublemaker. Everyone loved me in the locker room. I did everything right, and the offer that they offered it was like ‘is this serious?’ But the organization is offering guys from other places two times, almost three times, what they offered me and I was kind of like ‘are you serious? I have given everything and this is what you give me?”’

Golden Tate was appalled by some of the Seattle fans by the way they acted on Twitter and he also talked about the discount from the Seahawks.  He stated he was willing to offer them a discount but was shocked when they gave him numbers a low ball offer.

“I’m just appalled at the attitude I have received on Twitter from people I thought were Golden Tate fans and thought highly of the Seahawks. He added that the reaction has been “really interesting  I’m really surprise. Honestly, I think the world of the 12s and I always will. But there is a large group of 12s who have quickly, very, very quickly turned on me. And it’s kind of bothered me because I honestly feel like I did give everything I possibly could to the city of Seattle. …

“Now I think people took  that discount to like a 40 percent discount. Let’s be real people — I don’t care who you are,  if you have an opportunity to earn way more money in another state or another business, 100 percent, I think every last people, would leave, especially if they are setting up the rest of their family for the rest of their lives.”
