Buffalo Bills should sign tight end Jimmy Graham to a huge deal
I know this sounds crazy, but let me explain this. The New Orleans Saints rolled the dice on this situation and they might not have made a wise choice. This could be the biggest gamble ever for one of the best tight ends in the NFL. We all know that Jimmy Graham is Drew Brees’ security blanket, but let me explain this situation a little better.
If you go over our last 10 first round picks the Buffalo Bills are horrible at drafting in the top 10. They are better off getting a player that is solid and can make your team better right now?
Over the past ten years the Buffalo Bills draft picks in the first round are:
J.P. Losman – 2004
Lee Evans – 2004
No Pick – 2005
John McCargo – 2006
Marshawn Lynch – 2007
Leodis McKelvin – 2008
Aaron Maybin – 2009
C.J. Spiller – 2010
Marcell Dareus – 2011
Stephon Gilmore – 2012
E.J. Manuel – 2013
When you look at those players above Buffalo is horrible at drafting in the first round. So why not sign Jimmy Graham to a huge deal and give up the two first round picks for him?
This could be a huge blow to the Saints because if the Bills make a big contract offer to Graham, the Saints will not be able to match the offer. I am sorry, but I would give up any of those players above for Jimmy Graham. Shoot half of them are not even in the NFL anymore. If Buffalo can hit on the other draft picks, they could be that much closer to getting to the Playoffs.
Imagine if Buffalo was to franchise tag Byrd and then traded him for a 2nd round pick, if they can get a first next year the team does not lose that badly. They would technically give up a first rounder for the BEST tight end in the NFL. Do you agree?
