Broncos save 10 million dollars in cap space; Team releases Champ Bailey

Today Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports is reporting that the Denver Broncos have released Champ Bailey. He was owed a $1 million roster bonus on March 15. The cut saves $10 million against the cap.

With the available money, the Broncos could make a run at a safety.  Maybe T.J. Ward or Jairus Byrd could end up coming to Mile High….

Bailey wants to keep playing, but is unwilling to make a Charles Woodson-like conversion to safety. Either way, he’ll have to be open to playing for cheap.
