Now that Michael Bennett is a Super Bowl champion, he made sure to answer the questions about returning to Seattle. He did not say he wouldn’t come back to Seattle, but he made sure to let the world know he is not going to take a discount.
“There is no such thing as discount. This is not Costco, this is not Walmart – this is real life…There is no discount really because you go out there and you don’t give a discount on effort; you go out there and you give the best effort every day and you fight for your teammates, and you want to be compensated for the way that you perform and the kind of teammate you are.”
I honestly do not blame Bennett who played on a 1 year, 5 million dollar contract after leaving Tampa Bay. Bennett had 8.5 sacks and will get paid by someone. If Seattle cannot meet the demands, expect Bennett to leave. Two options could be his former team Tampa Bay, and the Chicago Bears where his brother plays tight end.
