Packers released OG/OC Greg Van Roten today
Greg Van Roten was signed by Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on July 25, 2012, and spent the opening five games on the Packers’ practice squad. He was later activated on Oct. 13 and appeared in seven regular-season games and both playoff contests.
Van Roten participated in the rookie mini camps of the San Diego Chargers and the N.Y. Jets in May 2012 as a tryout player, but was not signed by either team. He was a three-year starter at left tackle at the University of Pennsylvania, where he helped the Quakers to back-to-back Ivy League championships in 2009 and 2010. He also earned first-team All-Ivy League honors as a junior and senior.
