The Patriots need to open all trade talks for Ryan Mallett
If I am in New England, I would be fielding phone calls right now for Ryan Mallett. Several teams loved Mallett before coming out and with him just sitting behind Tom Brady he becomes a better option than what is available.
Both the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans would show interest, I am told, but the Texans would really love to get him.
When Mallett was drafted Bill O’Brien was an assistant with Bill Belichick and worked with Mallett. They have a good working relationship and the guy has a cannon of an arm. It would allow the Texans to go defense in the first round and give their second rounder to the Pats for Mallett.
If the Patriots could land a fringe first round pick for a guy they drafted later and sat behind Brady it is a huge win for the Patriots. They need to listen to calls.
