Since 2001, no player has forced more fumbles in the regular season and playoffs than Robert Mathis
In 2002 while playing for Alabama A&M, current Indianapolis Colts defensive end Robert Mathis etched his name in the SWAC record books with a record-setting 20-sack performance. That record was recently broken by Adrian Hamilton the outside linebacker of the Baltimore Ravens, but Mathis continues to shine in the NFL.
Robert Mathis’ strip-sack in the third quarter led to a Donald Brown touchdown catch six plays later. Mathis led the NFL with 19.5 sacks and eight forced fumbles during the regular season. Since 2001, no player has forced more fumbles in the regular season and playoffs combined than Mathis (52).
