Kansas City Chiefs sign a former JUCO standout to a futures contract
Risean Broussard was a very solid defensive lineman for Hinds Community College a small JUCO school before entering the NFL Draft.
Broussard is a Louisiana kid, that had a full ride to Tennessee, before becoming ineligible due to grades. Coming out of high school he tore up a combine bench pressing 385 pounds, runs the 40 in 5.03 seconds and has a vertical jump of 29.5 inches. He did 30 bench press repetitions with 185 pounds at a high school combine.
After a standout season in 2012, Hinds DL Risean Broussard (6-3, 280) was likely to be one of the top JUCO players in the country this coming fall. However, instead of returning to the Eagles, the gifted prospect opted to sign with an agent and hoped to hear his name called at the NFL Draft but it never happened. Instead, he signed a free agent deal with the Chiefs and was later cut. The Chiefs re-signed him again today.
