Vikings rally around Matt Cassel to win all five games this year, Do you see a trend?
Today Matt Cassel had the winning touchdown throw, to lead the Minnesota Vikings on a win in the last ever game that will be played at the MetroDome in Minnesota.
He was the quarterback at the end of all five Vikings victories this year, two in injury relief of Christian Ponder. The Vikings also narrowly avoided setting a franchise record for most points allowed, leaving the 1984 team still holding that dubious mark.
I don’t get it, but Cassel had been on the teams roster the entire year, but they failed to play him. The team would go to guys like Josh Freeman and Christian Ponder numerous times, before they gave him an opportunity. I honestly feel that it is a big slap in the face to the former New England Patriot back up. The Vikings will probably fire Leslie Frazier soon, but the big question is, will they draft a quarterback?
I wouldn’t doubt the Vikings to turn their check on their quarterback once again. I mean, Matt Cassel seemed like the only player trying to win besides Cordarelle Patterson who stepped it up big time over the past several weeks.
