Detroit Lions signed the fastest rugby player in the world today
The Detroit Lions’ philosophy is leave no stone unturned when it comes to player personnel and they showed it again Thursday, signing Carlin Isles to the practice squad.
Isles is a rugby player and track star. According to reports, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.22 seconds during his workout with the Lions Monday.
“He’s got great speed,” coach Jim Schwartz said Wednesday. “That’s probably the biggest thing. He’s a legit track guy. His background happened to be rugby, but it’s probably more track.”
Isles is called “the fastest rugby player in the world.”
Isles only football background was as a kick returner for Division III Ashland University in 2012.
