Ben Roethlisberger had to do research on his new center; He is confident in him now
Big Ben Roethlisberger was not sure about his new center, especially after Fernando Velasco went down with an Achilles injury. So Big Ben did some early homework on Wallace on the plane ride home from Baltimore last week, shortly after he learned that starting center Fernando Velasco had been lost for the rest of the season because of a ruptured Achilles tendon.
“I checked with the other linemen, asked them what they think about Cody, does he know [the offense]? And every single person said the same thing: ‘He’s a really smart player, there will be no issue, he’ll be good to go,’” Roethlisberger said on Wednesday. “When I’ve talked to him I’ve had that same confidence in him that he’ll be ready to rock with it.”
It is great that Big Ben seems confident in his new center. He will need to blow up his head, to ensure he stays upright.
