Todd Haley says the Steelers are close to becoming an offensive powerhouse

Todd Haley is a character, but the fact that the Steelers are averaging 17.9 points per game isn’t what has Todd Haley frustrated. He is frustrated because he feels the team is close to becoming an offensive powerhouse.

“I’m frustrated that we’ve got two wins,” the Steelers’ second-year offensive coordinator said on Thursday. “We all work too hard to come out on the losing end too many times. It’s a results business but we are working hard.

Not just that, Haley said, but he believes the offense can be part of the solution as the Steelers try to overcome a 2-5 start.

“I feel like we’re on the cusp of being pretty good,” Haley said. “We’ve had a lot of moving parts — not that anybody else hasn’t — but we’ve had to overcome and mix and match a little bit but I do feel like we’re close to playing the way we have to play for us to win on a weekly basis.”

If the Steelers can pick up a win this week against the Patriots, it could be the biggest shocker ever.  They lost last week to an Oakland Raiders team that wanted it more, but if the Steelers want to become a power house, they are going to have to win this week even if it is by the hair of their chinny chin chins.
