Packers have not had to rely on a back up quarterback in a really long time

On a play on September 20, 1992 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Majkowski tore a ligament in his ankle. He was replaced after the play by Brett Favre, who completed the game. Favre went on to start in every consecutive Packers game through the 2007 season.

Brett Favre replaced Majkowski and made 275 consecutive starts before his controversial departure after the 2007 season. Rodgers, now 29, took over and has sat out only twice — because of a concussion in 2010 and as a healthy scratch in the 2011 regular-season finale — in a league that has had 11 teams start multiple quarterbacks this season alone.

“We realize we are the exception,” Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy told USA TODAY Sports. “That’s the reality of the league. But we’ve been very fortunate for a number of years.”

Well I highly doubt that Scott Tolzien is the next Brett Favre but let’s face it the team has been blessed with a very solid quarterback for the past 20 years.  Well this year might not be their year, but this statistic goes to show you how awesome the Packers scouting staff is.
