What is your name?

My name is Roderick Lindsey

What is your Height/Weight?

I am 5’10 200 pounds.

What is your position?

I play defensive back

Where do you play college football?

I go to Chowan University

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

The coolest thing I have done off the field is coach 7-7 football at a camp. It allowed me to see the game from a coach’s perspective, and see how hard the young guys work.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

COLLEGE ALGEBRA

Where are you from?

I am from Fort Myers Florida born and raised.

Who is your role model, and why?

My role model is Deion Sanders the reason why is because he was the best corner to ever play the game, he was a leader on and off the field. He inspired me to play the defensive back position; he is also from my home town, (239).

Did you play any other sports growing up?

I did not play sports growing up, not even pop warner football. I think it helped my career because now I have a passionate love for the game and I appreciate it.

At your position, what separates you from others?

My man to man coverage is my best asset, every time I line up I know I am the best player on the field, my confidence separates me from my competition, my competitive edge separates me from my competition. My will to get better and outwork every defensive back in the nation is what separates me from others at my position.

Roderick LindseyWhen you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

When I am breaking down film the first thing I look for is the best wide receiver on the team. Then I check out the release of the quarterback, I find his weakness and I attack. I breakdown route running and effort then I take my notes and see where I have the advantage on each play and every coverage.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Sammy Watkins is the best player I went face to face with; he has never gone over 100 yards on me. He is yet to score a touchdown on me.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

I would compare my game to EARL THOMAS BECAUSE OF HIS SIZE AND HIS EFFORT TO NEVER QUIT ON A PLAY.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The biggest obstacle I had to face is telling my mother and my family that I was not going to college after graduation. The only way I made it through that situation is by the grace of God, he saved me, and I thank him. I’m Thankful.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

The only pre-game ritual I have is blessing the Lord for the opportunity presented to me.

As a small school football player what obstacles do you feel you have to overcome?

The biggest obstacles I face as a small school football player is being overlooked and not recognized enough. Although I enjoy being the underdog, it is fuel to the fire, no pressure at all.

What is your biggest strength?

My biggest strength would have to be my football IQ and my ability to play every position in the secondary.

What is your biggest weakness?

My biggest weakness is my deep 3rd coverage. I am making progress daily/weekly; I will turn all my weaknesses into my strength’s. I will assure you this problem will be fixed.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I would tell you my story and how far I have come to get to this point. I will assure that I will only get better and you will guarantee yourself a positive role model on and off the field. You are looking at a leader that will work hard to be the best and will not settle for anything.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

My favorite player has always been the hometown hero Deion Sanders, as well as Sean Taylor who is now resting in peace. My favorite team would have to be the dolphins growing up, or Tampa.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

If I could have dinner with three people it would have to be, Tupac Shakur, Nick Sabin and the legendary Kobe Bryant.

With your first NFL paycheck what would you buy?

With my first paycheck in the NFL I would not spend a penny, I WOULD SAVE IT, TO ASSURE THAT I HAVE CONSISTENT REVENUE FLOWING IN.
