NFL Draft Diamonds and our staff have been bringing our readers Prospect Interviews over the past 2 years and this year we mixed up the questions and added some fun questions for our readers. We have tons of NFL staff that read our interviews, and we actually received several of the questions from NFL scouts we speak too. Jamel Major

5’8/175

What is your position?

Cornerback

Where do you play college football?

I played at Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

I’ve painted houses in my community and cleaned up their neighborhood. 

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Economics.

Where are you from?

Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Who is your role model, and why?

My mother, she’s also my biggest fan. She’s done everything for me and continues to be my biggest support system. 

Did you play any other sports growing up?

I played basketball and ran track. 

Did you play any other positions in football?

I played wide receiver. 

At your position, what separates you from others?

My technique and footwork. 

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I look for the receivers tendencies, if he’s a good route runner, if he likes to block, does he come off the line high or low in his stance. 

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Le’Nard Meyers

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Charles James ll, because he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get on the field, he’s undersized like myself and plays with a lot of heart, he also went undrafted and was overlooked because of his size, we both have great technique and quickness and will just make our defense better. 

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

I had to overcome time, being patient wasn’t my best suit, so I just outworked everyone until my time came. Everything happens for a reason, so I believe when my chance come, I’ll be ready. 

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I listen to a hip hop playlist I have on my phone. 

As a small school football player what obstacles do you feel you have to overcome?

Being overlooked because of my size and showing the scouts that I can play at a powerhouse level.

Technique, and work ethic. 

What is your biggest weakness?

Too passionate. 

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I’ll be the hardest worker on the team, first one on the field, last one to leave the field. My work ethic will speak for itself. 

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

Deion Sanders and the Miami Dolphins. 

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

My great grandmother, Oprah Winfrey, and  Jay Z. 

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

My family a house.
