Robert Morris University 

How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?

10+

How did you choose your school?

I chose my school based on the best opportunity to be a starter, academics, and size of campus.

Where are you from?

Buffalo, NY

Who is your role model, and why?

My parents because they were determined, ambitious self-starters with tremendous work ethic.

Have any scouts met with you yet, and if so what are they saying?

Yes, I’ve spoken briefly to a few scouts who encouraged me to pursue my desire to play at the next level.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Yes, lacrosse, soccer, and hockey.

Did you play any other positions in football?

I played running back, safety, and special teams during my four years playing varsity high school football.

tony punteAt your position, what separates you from others?

I have consistency, accuracy, and good hang time.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

My get-off time, my coverage, return yards from the punt, and my pursuit of the play down field.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

The toughest player I’ve ever faced would have to be Quentin Gause, middle linebacker (Rutgers). 

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Drew Butler, we have very similar style of punting and directional kicks.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Academics did not come easy for me, I had maintained a very strong work ethic and raised my personal bar. I was able to graduate a semester early, with a 3.3 GPA while playing Division I AA football as a four year starter.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I mentally prepare for each game by attending chapel, reflecting on my best performances, and stay positive, determined, and motivated.

What is your biggest strength?

I would have to say that my work ethic and my desire to succeed are my biggest strengths.

What is your biggest weakness?

I can be very hard on myself when I don’t perform up to my personal standards.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I would say that I am very motivated, determined, and will go above and beyond to meet and exceed expectations.

Who was your favorite player and NFL team growing up?

Growing up my favorite player was Sean Taylor and my favorite team was the Buffalo Bills.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

My mother, Steve Jobs, and Michael Jordan
