Positives: Adequate size & okay length for a transition to WLB or SLB. Is versatile to the lineup as a 5-technique DE or 9-technique DE. Has a decent get off from the LOS, can get into an OL’s chest with a decent punch. Relies on leverage & a rip move to disengage while keeping his eyes on the QB, he has good lateral quickness to be able to stunt through the B-gap. Uses good mental processing to get his hands up in the passing lane against screens & short passes to the flats. Uses quickness & leverage to stay parallel to the LOS when crashing into the backfield against HB dives & draws, is decent & disciplined at setting the edge against HB tosses & sweeps. Flashes okay wrap up technique when tackling. Uses a high motor to chase down ball carriers on long gains.

Negatives: Is undersized to be considered as a DE, first step is decent while not very explosive. Does not have an arsenal or variety of pass rush moves to disengage. He can be driven back at times & seal blocked against off-tackle runs. Does not bend & turn the corner well when pass rushing.

Summary: A two-year starter at DE under head coach Andre Linn & defensive coordinator John Gray at Union College in Barbourville, KY. Was used as both a 5-technique & 9-technique DE off the edge in a 4-3 defensive scheme. Bishop is a defensive player that relies on quickness, leverage, mental processing, and a high motor to make plays, despite not being the most explosive. Will fit onto a team that runs a 4-3 defensive scheme. He can be a serviceable player on special teams while being developed into a WLB or SLB.

Projection: Free Agent/Pro Camp Player
