Marcus Mariota won the Heisman, but can he beat FSU?
Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota had a huge season this year for the Ducks and he now has a new trophy for the amazing Senior season. Mariota won the 2014 Heisman Trophy in a landslide.
With 788 first-place votes and 2,534 total points, Mariota easily surpassed Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon (37, 1,250) and Alabama receiver Amari Cooper (49, 1,023). Last year’s winner, Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, finished sixth in the voting, with four first-place votes and only 51 total points.
The bigger question is can Mariota beat the Seminoles? I honestly feel that the Florida State Seminoles will beat the Oregon Ducks head up. Mariota is a good quarterback, but he has to prove to me he can play against a physical defense. The Oregon Ducks will face the NFL ready Florida State Seminoles. He has not faced a team as physical all year, and I feel that Jimbo Fisher and company have a trick up their sleeve. I think Florida State will face Alabama in the championship.
Who do you think will be there?
