Mount Dora Florida High School Football Coach arrested for child solicitation
The former head football coach at South Plantation High School and current Mount Dora High School football coach has been arrested following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a child, according to jail and law enforcement records.
Colby Erskin, 39, was taken into custody Thursday by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant issued out of Broward County. Jail records show Erskin is facing charges of solicitation of a child and transmission of material harmful to minors. He is currently being held without bond.
Details surrounding the allegations claim that Erskin reportedly sent a naked photo to a 15 year old girl and also groomed her.
Records indicate Erskin most recently served as the head football coach at Mount Dora High School in Lake County.
In a statement provided Friday, Lake County Schools officials said Erskin is no longer employed by the district.
“Mr. Erskin is no longer employed with Lake County Schools,” the statement read. “He was dismissed today, while still in his probationary period with the district, after we learned of his arrest.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
