Jonathan Taylor is the MVP after 8 Weeks in the NFL, and it is not close

Fantasy Football Draft Guide Preview: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts
Jonathan Taylor is the MVP after 8 Weeks in the NFL, and it is not close

Jonathan Taylor was 100 percent right when he held out, but Colts fans were upset with him, and even taking shots at his agent Malki Kawa. Well, let’s fast forward because right now Colts fans should be sending flowers to Kawa for working out a deal with his client.

Jonathan Taylor has been the best running back in the NFL, and to be honest he has been the best player in the NFL.

We know the NFL always values quarterbacks higher than anyone else, but if you take Jonathan Taylor away from the Colts I am not sure they are 7-1.

During Sunday’s win over the Titans, Taylor scored on an 80-yard touchdown run that gave the now 7-1 Colts a 24-7 lead early in the third quarter. With the score, Taylor matched Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell for the fourth-most rushing touchdowns in history for a player in his first 75 games.

Just like Earl Campbell though, Jonathan Taylor is on path to be named the MVP. Campbell took home the award in 1979 and with the way 28 is playing right now, I am not sure who would vote someone else over him.

A non-quarterback hasn’t won league MVP since 2012, when former running back Adrian Peterson took home the honor after he nearly broke Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record. He entered Sunday’s game as the NFL’s leader in rushing yards (697) and touchdown runs (10) while being a key factor in helping guide the Colts to the NFL’s best record. Taylor had 149 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries on Sunday following his 80-yard scoring jaunt.

Taylor was the rushing champion back in 2021, and now he is absolutely spanking every team he faces. I am not sure you can give the MVP to anyone else at this point.
