Mason King broke onto the scene in 2023 with a standout season at Illinois State, earning First Team All-Conference honors and being named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Newcomer of the Year. In his debut campaign after transferring from Northern Illinois, he rushed for 983 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 150 carries, averaging a remarkable 6.6 yards per attempt. King quickly became the focal point of the Redbirds’ offense and one of the most productive and explosive running backs in the FCS.
