Former HS Football Star Shot and Killed by Police During High-Speed Chase in Tennessee

A tragic incident has claimed the life of former high school football star Alricko “Reco” Trimble Jr., after a police-involved shooting during a high-speed chase.
Trimble, remembered for his exceptional athletic talent, played varsity football at Red Bank from 2018 to 2021 and graduated in 2022.
Trimble’s talent on the field drew interest from several major college football programs, including Duke, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, NC State, Memphis, and Middle Tennessee State University. He ultimately committed to East Tennessee State University but did not enroll.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Chattanooga police attempted to stop Trimble in a mall parking lot. Authorities say Trimble fled the scene, reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour and ramming other vehicles in the process.
Officers eventually approached his vehicle on foot. The TBI reports that the situation escalated rapidly, leading to at least one officer firing their weapon. Trimble was struck and died at the scene.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard protocol during such investigations.
As the community mourns the loss of a once-promising young athlete, many are left seeking answers about what led to the tragic end of Alricko “Reco” Trimble Jr.’s life.
